Nixer Ltd

Nick formed Nixer Ltd in 2000 due to the numerous requests he received for product design work particularly, but not exclusively in Pro Audio. He started to design products from the ground up for many companies. Some were just simple PCB layouts where others were complete products, including the Schematic design, PCBs, metalwork and firmware. This is when Philip joined the company bringing his many talents at writing software to the table. Having now designed so many products for other people (and still do) they decided to develop and manufacture a range of products under the “Nixer Pro Audio” brand, more of which you can find out about on these pages

PD Dante - Portable Dante Network Diagnostics Tool and Audio Monitoring

A small portable Dante unit, which allows the monitoring of up to 64 Dante channels at 48kHz (32 channels at 96kHz). The signals are presented to the user via the inbuilt speakers or the headphone jack. The speakers are automatically muted when a headphone jack is inserted. Simultaneous outputs are also available in the form of the stereo balanced line outputs and AES output accessed via the 15way D-type.

The speakers and headphones have independent settings for volume, the unit recalling the last used setting for each when changing between speakers and headphones.

The balanced line outputs and AES output can be configured to follow the volume settings of the speakers or headphones. Alternatively, they can be set to independent levels with individual trim controls for each.

RD Dante - Rack Mount Dante Network Confidence Monitoring and Diagnostics Tool

A 2U 19inch rack mounted Dante monitoring and diagnostic unit, which allows the monitoring of up to 64 Dante channels at 48kHz (32 channels at 96kHz). The signals are presented to the user via the inbuilt 75mm full range speakers which are mounted in optimised ported cabinets for a high quality sound or the via the 6.35mm headphone jack. The speakers are automatically muted when a headphone jack is inserted. Simultaneous outputs are also available in the form of the stereo balanced line outputs and AES output accessed via XLR connectors on the rear of the RD Dante.

The RD Dante is operated and controlled via the large 5.0” diagonal (127mm) 24bit colour LCD and capacitive touch panel.

A simple and elegant menu system has been designed to be intuitive to navigate allowing the user to access all the features of the RD Dante very quickly.

RL64 Dante - 1U 19in Rack Mount Dante Monitoring Tool and Mixer

A 1U 19inch rack mounted Dante monitoring and mixing unit, which allows two modes of operation a mixing mode which can mix up to 64 Dante channels at 48kHz (32 channels at 96kHz) plus microphone input (via headphone connector) and AES input to create a 67 into 2 mixer. Alternatively, it can be set into a simple Listen mode where touching a channel instantly routes to the LR output and cancels any previous selection.

The outputs of the LR bus are presented to the user via the inbuilt 4mm x 9mm full range speakers or via the 3.5mm headphone jack. The speakers are automatically muted when a headphone jack is inserted. Simultaneous outputs are also available in the form of the stereo balanced line outputs and AES output accessed via XLR connectors on the rear of the RL64 Dante. The mix output is also routed to the Dante output.
